Free public tool to help people dictate how AI uses their face, name, voice and likeness
In an age where people have become enchanted with AI generative art some Artists are speaking out. Acclaimed, Oscar-winning actress and producer Cate Blanchett is one of those voices. An actor who is determined to send a message to those who profit from unauthorized usage of personal images and likenesses. She supports the empowerment of individuals to own their likenesses and creations. A sentiment that is shared my many. Even those who use AI for those purposes.
The Human Consent Registry (by RSL Media) is a step towards protecting yourself and your children from being used to make AI art without your consent.
Those who are concerned about AI using their likeness now have a means to fight back.

Blanchett has been outspoken about the issues arising from AI, and last week, she gave a presentation on the Human Consent Registry at the European Parliament. The registry is a free public utility tool that lets people create a record of how their name and likeness may be used by AI. The tool was created by RSL Media, a non-profit cofounded by Blanchett that launched last month, and its purpose is centred on the belief that your identity is your intellectual property, and every person should be able to dictate what can — and cannot — be scraped by AI models. • Variety Australia
“I know next to nothing about technology, but I know a problem or a challenge when I see one.”
– Cate Blanchett
While the EU passed the Artificial Intelligence Act in 2023 and the U.S. has introduced bills such as the NO FAKES Act to combat AI-generated deepfakes, there are few codified ways people can declare how AI can use their identity. This project aims to change that.
